Last night I spent $346.99 at the Vet ER on Bandit. It was a scary evening - Walter decided he needed to 'correct' Bandit by mouthing him over the shoulders and wiping the floor with him. Bandit's ensuing behavior and symptoms scared us so badly we took him to the Vet ER and I was convinced we wouldn't be bringing him home. After the exam and radiographs to check for broken bones or lung damage it was decided that Bandit had probably had a panic attack. He finally settled down and caught his breath and today he is fine. His right eye is bruised and swollen, probably from banging himself around under the table. Walter left no wounds, just a lot of slobber and a big scare for the little blind dog. The ER bill included the exam, radiographs, cerenia injection and ointment for the eye. Relief - priceless! I also spent $43.45 at the compounding pharmacy for benazepril for Bandit. YTD Expenses: $5668.23.

This week I've spent $141.49 on the dogs. I spent $79.09 online for rawhide treats -
I spent $43.45 at the compounding pharmacy for benazepril for Bandit -
And I spent $18.95 online for a set of Power Paws socks for Walter. (As he ages his right foot splays out further which causes him to scrape the sides of his middle toe on whatever surface he is moving. Even at the dogpark he is getting the hair and skin scraped off and his toe has been raw and bloody. The sock has allowed the scrape to scab over and dry up. Now I'd just like the hair to grow back and give a little more protection before removing the sock on our outings to the park).
Anyway, total YTD expenses: $5015.01.

On Wednesday I spent $240.83 at the vet's office. Birdie and Bandit had their semi-annual senior wellness exams with IPS. Bandit also received his Bordatella booster and a blood parasite screening. I also picked up six cans of Canine ID for Bandit and 50 tabs of 25 mg Carprofen for Walter. If it works for him it will less expensive than Rimadyl. YTD Expenses: $4873.52.
